Leave the airport
City centre is 60–90 min by cab in normal traffic, much worse at rush hour. With under 6 hours between flights, stay airside or visit the airport lounges instead.

Breakfast at a classic darshini
If you do go in: masala dosa and filter coffee at a stand-up darshini near Cubbon Park, ₹100–250. Iconic sit-down option: MTR (Lalbagh Road) or Vidyarthi Bhavan (Basavanagudi).

Cubbon Park stroll
Free, shaded 300-acre park in the centre. Good for stretching legs before a long flight.

Head back
Leave a 3-hour buffer before an international departure — security and immigration queues can be long.
Before you go
- Best season
- Bengaluru is mild year-round (15–30°C). October–February is driest; June–September brings monsoon showers.
- Getting around
- App cabs (Ola/Uber) from the airport cost roughly ₹800–1,200 to the centre. The Namma Metro airport line is under construction — check current status.
- Entry requirements
- Leaving the airport requires an Indian visa. Many nationalities can get an e-Visa online in advance; transit without leaving airside doesn't need one.
- Money
- UPI payments dominate locally but need an Indian account. Cards work at restaurants; carry some rupees for small eateries.
